The client

ProCook is the number one supplier of Cookware and Kitchenware in the UK. Customers have the option to shop at one of their 50+ stores nationwide, or on their website.

The challenge

ProCook’s eCommerce website is a mission-critical source of revenue for the business, which became even more important during the pandemic as their brick and mortar stores shut temporarily. 

It is imperative to ProCook that their website is accessible, secure and functioning on a 24 hours basis so that customers can purchase products at any time of day or night, and in any time zone.

The client was concerned that downtime was not only impacting their revenue but also taking away time from developing and improving the website to provide a better shopping experience. eCommerce is a competitive market, so keeping the lights on 24/7, whilst also having the time to innovate is essential to staying ahead of the competition.

The site is hosted on an AWS stack, so ProCook required a partner with expert AWS knowledge who could provide robust managed cloud hosting, and support the custom application around-the-clock.

The solution

Our professionally certified AWS engineers ran a series of deep dives with the clients, doing a thorough analysis of their cloud architecture and application set-up, including which AWS resources had been provisioned and how they integrate with a range of third parties, such as Algolia (for search), PayPal, Amazon and Braintree (for payments), and Loqate and DPD Delivery Service (for deliveries).

Our Incident Management team were fully briefed on the checkout flow, so they would be able to quickly identify and react if anything wasn’t working as expected. A tight 15 minute SLA protects the client from downtime.
